2020 Bordeaux Blend Red Wine, Napa Valley
95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot
Dark purple in the glass, the wine expresses vibrant aromas of ripe plum and espresso bean with a touch of cocoa nibs and cedar. On the palate, the bold tannins give structure to a dark fruit core of plum, black cherry and cigar box alongside more subtle notes of graphite, dried lavender and star anise. Bold, intense and complex.

Winemaker Notes
I love drinking Napa Bordeaux blends at this point in their evolution — when they are starting to show their true potential — and this wine is no exception. The depth of flavor is amazing ... concentrated yet agile. This is certainly a wine that drinks well right now, but will be going strong for another 15-20 years.
Food Pairing Notes
Spaetzle with kielbasa and caramelized onions.
Production
Hand picked and delivered to the winery in the early morning, the clusters were then sorted and 100% destemmed. The must was pumped to tank for a four-day cold soak followed by a relatively warm fermentation with yeast strain D254, isolated from the Bordeaux region of France. When fermentation was complete, the must was pressed and allowed to complete malolactic fermentation in barrel. Aged 18 months in 30% new and 70% used French oak. The wine was gently filtered before bottling.
