2022 Pinot Noir, Mitsuko's Vineyard, Carneros
Moderately dense purple-red in the glass, this wine opens with aromas of red plum, fig and cherry. With each sip, the drinker is rewarded with red fruits, a touch of vanilla, toasted coconut husk, cola and black cherry. Bright acidity helps direct the crunchy tannins to the front of the palate, while the silky mid-palate delivers a mouth-coating feel and helps drive the length and persistence.

Vineyard Notes
The cool, maritime climate of Carneros, driven by its proximity to San Pablo Bay, is ideal for Pinot Noir. Mitsuko’s Vineyard, situated within this AVA, experiences consistent fog and cooling breezes, which promote slow, even ripening. This extended growing season allows the Pinot Noir grapes to develop complex flavors and aromas, leading to a wine of remarkable depth and elegance.
Winemaker Notes
Handpicked in the early morning and delivered to the winery, the clusters underwent meticulous sorting and were 100% destemmed. Individual blocks were then immediately warm-fermented using a selected yeast strain. After fermentation, the must was pressed and transferred to barrels for malolactic fermentation.
Food Pairing Notes
Pair with Coq au Vin. Pinot Noir’s light to medium body and high acidity, make it an ideal partner for this classic French dish.
